2023: Geolocation Fare Launch Plan

On September 20, 2023, an agreement was signed on cooperation in the field of digitalization of passenger transportation.

The agreement is aimed at developing passenger services, introducing digital solutions and on this basis - improving transport services, increasing passenger satisfaction and the attractiveness of public transport.

In October 2023, a pilot project for the introduction of smart fare on suburban railway transport (Kazan-Passenger - Kazan-Kazan-Passenger Airport route) will start in Kazan. Smart payment is carried out according to geolocation data in the passenger's mobile application and does not require the purchase of paper tickets at the box office, as well as the use of expensive validators. Carriers significantly save costs, and passengers - time. A person who pays for geolocation in a mobile application can safely pay in a smartphone in a few clicks and get a digital ticket.

The capital of the Republic of Tatarstan will be the first city where smart payment will be introduced on suburban railway transport and will completely save passengers from queues at the ticket offices. Next, smart payment will apply to Kazan city passenger transport.

In Kazan, the project is implemented by the Parties to the Agreement: JSC Sodruzhestvo (PPK); Association of Transport and Logistics Market Participants "Digital Transport and Logistics" (ACTL); Russian Railways - Digital Passenger Solutions LLC and Datapax LLC.
