2024: Ready to implement lean tools

Three months after joining the national project, training the working group and passing the training "Process Factory," the team of the Refkul plant is ready to start the stage of introducing lean production tools. This was reported on February 16, 2024 by the Business Development Agency.

The completed "Diagnostics and Planning" phase provided a clear understanding of the complex changes in the enterprise and identified ways to solve the problems identified during the diagnosis. During this time, on a pilot stream for the manufacture of precision air conditioners, the combined team Kaluga RCC and Refkula optimized a number of processes. In particular, implemented a production analysis to promptly respond to variances in the production process. Workplace standards were developed, as well as operational standards to optimize time to work and quickly train new employees. The current state of the reference area implies the execution of 28 activities, 18 of which have already been implemented.

In the fall of 2023, Refkul began to construction the second stage of the enterprise, thanks to the support of regional development institutions and the national project "Small and medium-sized enterprises." The company plans to complete construction by the summer of 2024 and put new capacities into operation.

Go to Diagnostics and Planning

Refkul has moved to the Diagnostics and Planning stage as part of the implementation of lean tools. This was announced at the end of November 2023 by the Agency for Business Development of the Kaluga Region, GAU.

With the help of experts from the Regional Competence Center (RCC), the operator of the national project "Labor Productivity" in the Kaluga Region, the plant's working group will have to identify problems on the selected pilot stream and optimize the process of manufacturing precision air conditioners.

Precision air conditioner is refrigeration equipment designed to accurately maintain the specified climatic parameters in server and other process rooms. REFKUL is equipped with equipment that provides a full technological cycle for the creation of climatic and refrigerating equipment: metal preparation workshop, painting workshop, welding workshop, assembly workshop, electrical switchboard assembly workshop, quality department, test area.

The first "lean" tool introduced at the enterprise was production analysis. It is a problem diagnostic tool focused on fixing deviations from planned values on a daily basis. To conduct a comprehensive analysis of problems at the reference site, a high level of competence is required, which the working group of the Refkul plant pumped at the Standardized Work training.

Unlike training at the initial stage, where the goal was to provide basic knowledge about lean production tools and their impact on working conditions, financial and production indicators, the training completed includes practical measures and tools for standardizing work.

The development of this methodology will allow Refkula specialists to ensure an even load on personnel, achieve consistency of production parameters through uniform criteria and practices, as well as subsequently maintain the achieved level of efficiency and maintain the dynamics of improvements.

The process of digitizing production indicators is not yet completed, but employees of the enterprise are already providing feedback on the new training and the first results:

Training at the Process Factory

Employees of the Refkul plant were trained at the Process Factory. This training platform was created as part of the national project "Labor Productivity." At it, participants study lean production tools and immediately use them in practice when assembling a real device. This was announced on November 3, 2023 by the Business Development Agency.

The training is carried out by specialists from the Regional Competence Center (RCC), which is the operator of the national project.

The Refkul company recently joined the national project, and its employees immediately began measures to introduce lean production tools. A working group has already been created at the enterprise, specialists are undergoing training. During the training, employees of the plant for the production of refrigeration and climatic equipment produced gas pumps, built assembly areas, OTK and logistics. The effect of the first steps to the transformations was not long in coming. According to the results of the training, the team went to virtual earnings of 136 thousand rubles.

This is a very interesting experience for us. People from the line who are directly involved in the production process came to the Factory. As a result, a friendly and well-coordinated team formed. I think that the activities of the national project will help us get an effect that can be measured both in numbers and in achievements. Lean Manufacturing Implementation

Kaluga technical contractor of Moscow State University and Sberbank is introducing lean production. This was announced on September 29, 2023 by the Business Development Agency.

Refkul Company (part of Termokul Group of Companies) - a plant for the production of refrigeration and climatic equipment localized in the Borovsky district of the Kaluga region. The company is aimed at import substitution and manufactures products under the brand domestic customers. Among the equipment manufactured at the plant: plants liquid cooling, compressor-condenser units, refrigeration units, precision air conditioners and pumping units.

Refkul's order portfolio includes individual projects for data center Moscow of the State University, data center "" in and Sberbank Skolkovo Alfa-Bank. Despite the fact that the company is the owner of a number of awards in energy efficiency, it was decided to raise the bar for production culture even higher.

As a participant in the national project "Labor Productivity," the company recently began to introduce lean technologies under the control of experts [[Regional Competence Center of the Kaluga Region 'Regional Center competencies (RCC)]]. The center operates on the basis of the Business Development Agency and is operator of the national project in the Kaluga region.

Refkul employees have already passed the first stage of training on the basics of lean production, learned about how it can improve working conditions, financial and production indicators.

RCC specialists gave the participants of the working group knowledge about the organization system workplace, basics of production analysis and mapping and implementation methods of the improvement project.
