2023: Siemens Healthineers bought Aspekt Solutions

On September 26, 2023, Varian, a division of Siemens Healthineers, announced that it had entered into an agreement to acquire Aspekt Solutions, a developer of cancer treatment technologies. The value of the transaction and other conditions for its implementation are not disclosed.

It is noted that the direction of treatment of cancer is developing rapidly, and health care providers face numerous problems, including rising costs, technological complexity and a lack of qualified personnel. By addressing these challenges, health centers strive to achieve both operational efficiency and a high level of patient quality of care. Aspekt Solutions provides consulting services in medical physics, dosimetry and strategy. In addition, this company offers recommendations, technical and operational knowledge necessary to organize economical and efficient activities.

Siemens Healthineers buys cancer technology developer

The acquisition of Aspekt Solutions is expected to allow Varian to expand its own Advanced Oncology Solutions (AOS) initiative. As part of this program, Varian offers personalized projects that combine technological solutions, professional support from world-class experts, and a diverse clinical and operational experience. The company is partnering with cancer centers to help them achieve unique goals to expand, modernize or standardize operations while implementing the world's best practices in cancer care.

Through the acquisition of Aspekt Solutions, we will be able to support more cancer centers by taking a holistic approach to solving existing problems, as well as adapting to the rapidly developing industry of treating malignancies, said Chuck Lindley, vice president of Varian.[1]
