The National Museum of the Udmurt Republic named after Kuzebai Gerd has supplied a domestic planetary scanner ElarScan A2-400R to create electronic copies of originals from various funds. Elar announced this on October 11, 2023.

The National Museum of the Udmurt Republic is located in the Arsenal building of the Izhevsk Arms Factory, a monument of industrial architecture of the 19th century. The museum is named after Kuzebay Gerd - a Udmurt poet, playwright, enlightener, politician. The expositions, exhibitions, collections and events of the museum present the nature, history and culture of Udmurtia over 10 thousand years.

The museum needed a scanner to digitize the Books of Receipts of the main fund of the A3 format, including with the ability to scan books that do not open 180 degrees, while the mandatory requirement was the presence of pressure glasses and scanning without glare to digitize postcards, photos.

The domestic planetary scanner ElarScan A2-400R with professional Russian image processing software ScanIdij, equipped with a V-shaped cradle, which is adjustable to the desired format and degree of disclosure - 90, 120 or 180, allowing you to scan originals up to 15 cm thick and weighing up to 15 kg, optimally suited to the tasks.

With the help of this equipment, forty Books of receipts of the main fund of the museum, more than a hundred books of scientific equipment, several hundred documents of the A3 format from a group of written sources, as well as several hundred photographs and postcards will be digitized, - said the editor of electronic databases Elena Vladimirovna Zyablitseva. - Digital copies of books of receipts and books of scientific inventory are stored on the website of the state catalog of the museum fund of the Russian Federation and in the museum as insurance copies. Electronic copies of books of scientific inventory - insurance copies, stored in the museum. Digital images of photographs, documents, postcards and the like are loaded into the item card in the comprehensive automated museum information system KAMIS, from where they are then uploaded to the website of the state catalog of the Museum Fund of the Russian Federation.
