2023: Filter Material Launched

The Moscow company Montem, specializing in the production of nonwoven materials, has developed and plans to launch import-substituting filter material for use in thermal power plants into mass production. This was announced on October 11, 2023 by the Minister of the Government of Moscow, Head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy Vladislav Ovchinsky.

{{quote 'Metropolitan industrialists have been actively working over the past few years to strengthen technological sovereignty - they are increasing production volumes, expanding the assortment line and discovering new areas of activity. After the departure of foreign companies, domestic enterprises were able not only to replace, but also to surpass them. Thus, the Moscow manufacturer of nonwoven materials has developed an import-substituting material for filter hoses that are used at thermal power plants. The company plans to launch it into mass production in the near future, and also to make 13 thousand such products by the end of the year, "said Vladislav Ovchinsky. }} The first batch of material has already been delivered to Omsk TPP 5. In the future, it can also be used in enterprises where hose heat-resistant filters are needed, for example, in an incinerator or concrete plant.

The material was developed jointly with the All-Russian Thermotechnical Institute (VTI). It has a minimum pore driving rate for the conditions of capturing ash of high-ash coal, which will allow in the future to increase the service life of the filter hoses, as well as an increased resource of at least three times when capturing ash and high-concentration dust.

As a result of the tests, VTI specialists revealed that the top layer of the experimental material traps ash particles, preventing them from penetrating, thereby improving the process of hose regeneration. The development exceeds the imported filter material PPS used for October 2023 at the CHPP.
