2023: Use of a robot in the RWT area
In October 2023, at one of the exhibitions in Moscow, the general public was shown for the first time a ground-based robotic platform BR-2 with a mobile machine gun mount. It was created in the Scientific and Production Association (NPO) "Gran."
As told TASS at the enterprise, the robotic platform is BR-2 used by assault detachments in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation zone of military special operation (SVO) on. To Ukraine In total, about 60 combat robots from NPO Gran are used in the SVO zone.

BR-2 was developed by one of the Russian scientific and production associations jointly by the Popular Front charitable foundation. This is not the first development, earlier a robotic platform BRG-1 appeared in the WVO zone, designed to evacuate the wounded.
According to Military Review, citing its own source, the BR-2 robotic platform, equipped with a mobile mount with a Kalashnikov machine gun, really entered service with assault groups. According to the interlocutor of the publication, the platform is wheeled, can be used both for the transportation of goods and in hostilities. By the fall of 2023, the robot's ode is used as a combat unit capable of covering fighters in the offensive. A movable turret can be equipped with a machine gun, grenade launcher or anti-tank guided missile, depending on the tasks assigned.
The use of the complex provides fighters with security during offensive operations, for example, when the enemy is protected by embrasures. If you need to run over from one building to another, the platform can either advance independently or be used as a cover for Russian fighters, a TASS source said.[1] |
