Unilever is actively using cloud technologies in Russia and Belarus. Machines and equipment use Internet of Things sensors and transmit a lot of product data to the cloud - from temperature and humidity to the duration of the production cycle. Business analysts work with this information in real time.
At the end of 2022, the company decided to move to the territory of Russia the entire SAP infrastructure and storage of SAP Business Warehouse, as well as all the data of the Russian division. Initially, the team planned to place all IT resources in one CloudMTS data center, but for additional reliability of the system, specialists completely duplicated the productive contours in various data centers. The geography of computing resources is distributed and duplicated at sites in St. Petersburg and Moscow. A separate task for CloudMTS specialists was to configure network connectivity between data centers. Unilever has a distributed fault-tolerant network in Russia, which is supported by several domestic and foreign Internet providers. CloudMTS engineers helped "land" all operators on their virtual infrastructure.
We make essential goods that are bought every day by millions of Russians. Therefore, all four Unilever production clusters continue to operate in different regions of the country. With CloudMTS, we have almost from scratch built a geodistributed and fault-tolerant IT infrastructure of a company in Russia that is convenient to manage and easy to scale. Key business processes were localized: financial planning, sales data, human resources management, performance analysis and logistics. The transition ensured business continuity, and our customers will continue to use their usual high-quality products, "said Yuri Blizgarev, Chief information officer of Unilever Rus. |
In the project, we used all the experience of transferring IT systems to the cloud accumulated over the past year in projects with large customers. In this localization, everything is large-scale: the amount of data transferred, the number of virtual machines involved; An international team of customer IT professionals, consultants, system architects, and engineers. In a short time, we not only moved the entire critical infrastructure of Unilever Rus to Russia, but built a fault-tolerant local system, "said Evgeny Svidersky, head of the CloudMTS Center for Architectural Solutions. |
