2023: Development of an application to automate the verification of the quality of the device before its release into operation

The application for testing equipment was supposed to eliminate the human factor and speed up the testing stage.

InfoTeCS supplies communication devices and carefully monitors their quality. Before transferring to users, each instance is tested, which used to take a long time due to the fact that the procedure was carried out manually.

The Nord Clan company developed a solution that was supposed to automate this process. The application is installed on the tablet and makes it easy to check the device.

Available list of equipment tests

• Touchscreen - check for non-working areas on the device screen
• Display - check for broken pixels on the device screen
• Battery - checking the duration of the device charge
• Cpu - test to check the operation of CPU under load
• Phone tube - sound quality check at the microphone and speaker on the handset
• Phone button - check the serviceability of the button on the handset
• USB - Device USB Health Check
• Ethernet - check the availability of the Internet, maximum bandwidth
• Camera - checking the health of the camera on the device

All tests can be divided into groups, which will speed up the process and allow you not to run the entire list of tests if you do not need it. For example, carry out only load tests.

There are also two test modes in the application:

• step-by-step: tests run until a test error occurs, or all installed tests are successful
• cyclic: tests are performed regardless of the result, until they are stopped by the operator

The test results are displayed as a table.

The results are saved to a file in the download folder (local storage of the device). The user can choose the format for saving test results: "csv" or "txt."

Features of the testing application

During the development of the application, Nord Clan specialists also interacted with Android hardware: battery, screen, CPU, disk, network card, etc.

As a result, the client received an application for testing equipment and an APK file for installation on any such tablets. The Nord Clan also developed and transmitted a detailed user guide and a list of test cases.
