2023: Completion of the first phase of implementation of the corporate software platform for data management

Krok Cloud Services and MuzTorg have completed the first stage of a project to implement a corporate software platform for managing data accumulated from different Pimcore sources. The customer needed to quickly deploy the infrastructure built on the container environment. CROC specialists Cloud services implemented a project based on their own cloud using Orion soft's Nova Container Platform. Due to its use, deployment and configuration took only one week. CROC announced this on October 31, 2023.

CROC Cloud services have been providing computing resources to Muztorg for more than three years and is administering and supporting the IT infrastructure of the company's website. At this point in the collaboration, the challenge was to deploy the Pimcore analytics system to the two divisions of the customer.

Initially, Muztorg used the services of CROC Cloud services to support the e-commerce platform. It was important for us to ensure a consistently high level of availability with an SLA of 99.95%. At the current stage, we needed to build two more nodes of the system for data analytics, and we decided to immediately deploy them in the cloud in order to be able to scale. For our company, a huge plus lies in the lack of labor costs for the administration and support of these systems, since these functions are completely taken over by CROC Cloud Services, - said Denis Polshakov, director of data management at Muztorg.

CROC Cloud services offered the customer to implement the project using the Russian container orchestration platform Nova Container Platform from Orion soft. Thanks to it, the timing of the first stage of the project was reduced by 3 times, compared to the independent deployment of the system. By distributing the infrastructure between the three data centers, the maximum fault tolerance of the system was ensured. As part of the project, Nova Container Platform was integrated with the Muztorg domain controller, which allowed the company to flexibly manage users, rights and access. For data security, an external secret store was used, for which, if Kubespray or KaaS were used, an additional deployment time would be required, increasing the duration of the project as a whole. Scaling mechanisms and processes were also provided. In the future, the foundation in the form of the CROC Cloud infrastructure and the fault tolerance of Nova's internal mechanisms will allow Muztorg to implement the transition to a microservice architecture at the lowest cost.

The use of the Nova platform in addition to reducing the project implementation time has another quality - safety. It fully complies with CIS Benchmark for Kubernetes international guidelines. It turns out that when migrating to Nova, we did not need to additionally configure individual components, since the platform is supplied as an initially completely safe product, "said Sergey Zinkevich, director of the CROC Cloud Services business unit.
