2023: A system has been developed to translate data maintenance into electronic form and visualize it in BI tools
The Russian company CodexProj (Codexproj), which is represented mainly by graduates of MIPT, has developed the information system "Data Generation Module." The system provides the ability to maintain data in a structured form with storage in the database without any modifications for each new data maintenance task.
Prerequisites
In organizations, the level of introduction of information technologies is growing, there are many information systems on the market, but at the same time there continue to be processes for which data is not maintained in these systems, including Word, Excel, etc.
During the selective analysis of the processed data by various organizations, it was revealed that more than 20% of the data is conducted manually. Manual data is those that are not processed in the IT systems of the organization, unstructured and maintained separately in different files or in principle only on paper, and this type of data always causes a large number of problems in consolidation, processing and analytics.

Only a few of the many examples of similar tasks for organizations:

At the same time, in almost any organization, regardless of industry and size, the level of application of information technologies, it is necessary to form and maintain data not in information systems and without saving in the database within the framework of the above examples.
This happens for the following reasons:
- It is necessary to organize the maintenance of new data on the tasks that have arisen within a short period of time within a few days and it is not possible to provide them at the expense of already operated information systems that require their revision;
- Procurement procedures for new information systems also do not allow you to solve the problem in the necessary time, and the organization maintains data manually, including using Excel;
- in principle, the organization does not have funds for the purchase and/or refinement of information systems.
- What are the main ways organizations go in these conditions:
- do not keep data in electronic form in principle;
- use Excel, which does not solve the main problems below.
This affects the following within the organization:
- Data is not stored in the database in structured form, no change history exists
- there is no delimitation of user access to data;
- uncontrolled data maintenance;

But also, the Module, forming data in a structured form, allows you to implement data mappings not only in tables, but also in visual components of BI tools, thereby making analytics possible and stable.
The module provides mapping in dashboards with online modeling by embedding the tabular forms themselves directly into the BI tool through the API. That is, users see how their change in one value affects another and the entire analytics on the dashboard, for example, how the change in cases affects the demand for drugs, for the commercial sector, how the admission of new workers will affect the increase in costs (not only the wage fund, but also other costs).
