The Volokolamsk Library Center has supplied the domestic planetary scanner ElarSCAN A2-400 to create electronic copies of various local history materials. This was announced on November 8, 2023 by Elar.
Volokolamsk library, created in 1902 as the first library of the city and county, is now one of the oldest in the Moscow region. The basis for the fund was 300 books from the personal meeting of the local sanitary doctor B.A. Yurkovsky. The Volokolamsk Library Center includes 18 libraries, a single fund of which has more than 255 thousand documents.
At the ElarSkan A2-400 planetary scanner, it is primarily planned to digitize newspaper sheets starting in 1943.
Thousands of issues of such publications as Stalin's Way, Volokolamsk Collective Farmer, Lenin's Way, Selskaya Nov, Ilyich's Testaments, Volokolamsk Territory, Volokolamsk Week will be digitized, said Marina Bobinova, director of the Volokolamsk Library Center. - As well as other local history materials: separate collections of publications about honorary people of the district, significant events, monuments, etc. The received electronic copies are planned to be posted on the institution's website for free access of users. |
The ElarScan A2-400R scanner will allow you to carefully and in high resolution scan various types of stitched and embroidered originals of the format to A2, using automatic adjustment for documents of different thickness and texture. The V-shaped cradle is adjustable to the desired format and degree of opening - 90, 120 or 180, allowing you to scan originals up to 15 cm thick and weighing up to 15 kg.
