2023: Logistics Transformation
The team of GC Corus Consulting"" has completed a project that will help transform. logistics Zolla Thanks to the recommendations of experts, the fashion brand will be able to use warehouse space more efficiently. This was announced Corus Consulting by "" on November 10, 2023.
Zolla brand owner Factor plans to grow the business by 30% by 2025. This requires changes to business processes, IT infrastructure, and warehouse logistics transformation. One of the important areas of change is warehouse automation, which will smooth out seasonal peaks. Two months a year, the Zolla warehouse has a peak load when the products of the spring-summer and autumn-winter collections arrive. 60% of the time, the Zolla warehouse is practically empty. The phenomenon is typical for the fashion industry, however, because of it, the warehouse reaches the productivity limit and limits further growth in the volume of cargo transshipment.
Under these conditions, the company's management sought to smooth out the seasonality of the load and use current resources more efficiently. If Zolla had left the current processes in the supply chain unchanged, it would have to increase storage space. To optimize the supply chain, the company turned to KORUS Consulting Group of Companies.
KORUS Consulting experts prepared hypotheses for optimizing warehouse processes, and then tested them, modeling key changes using mathematical calculations. The use of the SCOR (Supply Chain Operations Reference) model allowed you to compare Zolla processes with the best industry practices and identify opportunities for optimization.
During the project, the team of experts investigated the entire supply chain and analyzed the supply processes. The key parameter of the assessment was the expansion of the total logistics throughput. Experts investigated the situation "as is," developed a target model and built the shortest path to "to be" based on the company's business processes.
Thanks to our long experience with fashion retailers, we are deeply immersed in the peculiarities of the industry. It implies a constantly updated assortment of goods, a change in the speed of their turnover, as well as taking into account various product parameters (color, finish, size, length). Together with the client, we have developed such a configuration of the Zolla supply chain that will provide a minimum of costs for the business - using a mathematical model based on real business processes, - said Alexander Trotsky, project manager from KORUS Consulting Group of Companies. |
As a result of the project, a mathematical model was developed to test what-if situations. It calculates time and physical costs for changes in supply chain parameters, such as the frequency and volume of shipments from production. So Zolla can identify in advance bottlenecks and needs for additional resources - for example, in warehouse space, equipment and personnel. Logistics transformation recommendations and a mathematical model will help Zolla form a more balanced supply chain.
As business grows, the transformation of logistics becomes business critical. There is a need for an expert view from the outside. To choose a contractor, we analyzed the market in detail and consulted with colleagues from the industry - KORUS Consulting recommended us, - said Vladislav Lansbergis, Director of the Zolla Warehouse and Transport Logistics Department, - It is critical in our industry to provide an assortment of clothing, especially with a sharp change in climatic conditions. Thanks to the optimization launched by experts, even with the onset of early hot summer, our customers will be able to get a wide range of sundresses, dresses and blouses. And when the snow falls in early October - choose a fashionable down jacket. |
