2023: Product Announcement

November 9, 2023 startup Humane introduced a compact personal device of a new type called AI Pin. This wearable gadget based on artificial intelligence is intended to replace. smartphone

The AI Pin is enclosed in a square body with rounded corners. The device can be worn on clothing or suspended on any surfaces by means of magnetic fastening. The weight is 34 grams and the extra battery pack adds another 20 grams. The basis is the 8-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor clocked at 2.1 GHz, but the exact model of the chip is not indicated (as of mid-November 2023). There is 4 GB of RAM and a 32 GB eMMC flash drive. The equipment includes Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1 adapters, a GPS receiver, a 4G modem (there is support for eSIM technology), an accelerometer, a gyroscope and an illumination sensor. Plus, a 13-megapixel camera is provided.

AI Pin

The AI Pin has no built-in display: instead, a projection system is used to form an image in the palm of your hand. Support for voice control has been implemented. The main task of the gadget is to interact with AI models using software called AI Mic. The developer speaks of support for Microsoft and OpenAI models: in particular, Humane claims that access to ChatGPT is one of the main functions of the device. At the same time, an operating system called Cosmos automatically redirects requests to the necessary tools, so that you do not need to download applications and manage them locally.

The idea behind the AI Pin is to eliminate the need for the owner to work with an overloaded user interface. Instead, the owner of the gadget can interact with the AI bot through natural language commands. The cost of new items is about $700.[1]
