In November 2023, the MNP (Mobile Number Portability) system was launched in Uzbekistan - a service for transferring a subscriber number in mobile communication networks throughout the republic. The installation of the system was carried out by the company "Svyazcom," whose representatives announced this on November 9, 2023.

MNP (Mobile Number Portability) is a mobile number transfer system that allows subscribers to store a phone number when moving from one carrier to another. It provides flexibility and freedom of choice for users - now you don't have to spend time and effort remembering a new number, as well as notifying your contacts of changes. A request for the development and launch of such a system for Uzbekistan appeared in 2018.

There was a large, but already familiar and verified work related to the organization of this service on the side of the telecom operator, as well as with the refinement of all related systems for uninterrupted interaction with new functionality. According to representatives of Svyazcom, for the company this project has become one of the largest after CEIR (Central Equipment Identity Register) - it has replenished the piggy bank for the supply of large systems, including for communications regulators.

MNP in Uzbekistan functions not only as a single central base on the side of the communication regulator, but also in the form of four MNP-SRF nodes - one for each of the telecom operators of Uzbekistan associated with the central base. SRF nodes help route all calls and messages of subscribers from their networks to strangers, as well as receive from the main database of transferred subscriber numbers all the information necessary for routing.

Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan acted as a customer and regulator in connection with the social significance of the project. The comprehensive solution from Svyazcom covers literally everything country and ensures uninterrupted exchange data between all system components.

The system was fully implemented in 2023, and now Uzbekistan subscribers can maintain their familiar and familiar number combination, which simplifies communication and prevents loss of contacts when changing operators. The development and installation of MNP is primarily a social project that is important at the state level. It also stimulates competition between operators and motivates to improve conditions and services in order to attract new subscribers with favorable tariff offers, noted in the "Svyazcom."
