2023: Development of an expanded directory of city attractions and routes

In St. Petersburg, new services will appear within the framework of the Tourism Platform - a digital solution designed for residents and guests of the city, as well as for experts in the field of hospitality. This was announced on November 16, 2023 by the press service of the vice-governor of St. Petersburg S.V. Kazarin.

For the platform, an expanded directory of city attractions and routes, a single calendar of events, a system for certification of guides and guides, as well as a system for supporting the resort collection are being developed.

The tourist platform of St. Petersburg is implemented on the basis of the state information system in the field of tourism - GIS Turreestr. Platform services are introduced into use in stages. You can assess the current capabilities of the platform on the official travel portal of visit-petersburg.ru, new services will also appear here. A significant update to the platform's functionality is planned to be launched by the next tourist season in 2024.

A system of personal offices for tourists and guides is being prepared on the platform. With their help, guides will be able to publish on the visit-petersburg.ru portal information about excursion routes, the cost of excursions and their schedule. For tourists, a rating of guides will be available, formed on the basis of the ratings of previous visitors. After registering on the platform, tourists will be able to sign up for selected excursions online, as well as receive personal recommendations based on their own preferences.

The tourism platform will be complemented by the possibilities of information interaction with external services. It is planned to integrate announcements of significant events and events from the Yandex.Afisha, St. Petersburg Congress and Exhibition Bureau and Культура.РФ sites into the platform.

The project was developed within the framework of the strategy of digital transformation of St. Petersburg and should form an understandable and convenient tool for residents and guests of the Northern capital, who will be able to receive detailed information about the city, events and sights on a single resource, as well as sign up for an excursion with a certified guide at a convenient time.

As part of the next stage of the development of the project, it is planned to add to the platform an expanded directory for St. Petersburg, which includes information about significant persons, events, architecture and monuments. Due to different formats, tourists will have the opportunity to create individual routes for walks associated with historical figures or events in accordance with their own interests.

In the future, it is planned to implement the electronic document management function for certified guides, the ability to draw up individual routes for walks and collect ratings of attractions and routes. The tourist platform will receive integration with the Ecosystem of St. Petersburg city services in terms of the exchange of information about events, attractions, routes, guides and guides.

The avatar of the platform can be a lively urban hero using an artificial intelligence system - Chizhik-Pyzhik, a character known to adults and children who will tell stories and curious facts about the city, famous personalities and important events. As of November 2023, more than thirty audio stories about the most popular attractions of the city have already been recorded in the voice of Chizhik-Pyzhik.
