Rosseti creates a digital twin of its electric network for 566 million rubles

Customers: Federal Grid Company - Rosseti

Moscow; Power

Project date: 2023/11

On November 22, 2023, the Rosseti group, one of the world's largest power grid holdings, announced a tender for the creation of an information modeling system for the electric network (SIMES). We are talking about the development of a digital twin of the energy complex, which will be able to combine more than 500 thousand medium and high voltage substations.

According to the Vedomosti newspaper, the project is estimated at 566 million rubles. The platform is necessary for the visual management of electric power facilities. Among the key functions of the digital twin are the acquisition of information on the current parameters of objects and the calculation of indicators in online mode. The terms of reference states that SIMES should be created as a centralized information system, the access of users to which is carried out through the web interface. The basis will be the PC-20.ModelEditor software included in the register of Russian software. Among the main requirements for the platform are:

  • The use of open systems standards and support of industrial integration technologies to organize the interaction of customer application systems;
  • Ability to modify and extend functions;
  • Support for scaling by adding new compute nodes;
  • The ability to form an arbitrary configuration from a set of available components;
  • Protection against incorrect behavior of system components with exception monitoring;
  • Backup of critical nodes, use of data backup tools;
  • Support for multiplayer mode;
  • An understandable and convenient interface.

It is planned to connect the executive apparatus and branches of Rosseti (about 900 power facilities of different capacities), as well as devices of Rosseti subsidiaries and their branches (more than 545 thousand power facilities) to the system. The initial contract price is 565.74 million rubles.[1]
