2023: The start of the educational program "Rosatom"

On October 9, 2023, ROSATOM's educational program on quantum computing for talented high school students started at the Sirius Presidential Lyceum. The event opened a "quantum" shift in "Sirius," which is carried out by the State Corporation in the person of the enterprise "Quantum" and the Corporate Academy of Rosatom together with the ANOO "Presidential Lyceum" Sirius. "

The seven-day intensive "Introduction to Quantum Computing" is a program for schoolchildren in grades 9-11 who are interested in physics and are ready for its in-depth study. The goal of the project is to popularize "quants" as a strategic direction of science and technology and attract young talents to become scientists and engineers.

The educational program, along with the introduction to quantum physics, includes quantum optics (elements of quantum mechanics, photonics, lasers, quantum states of light, introduction to nanophotonics), acquaintance with the topic of quantum computer and quantum communications. Classes in the format of lecture, practical and laboratory work will be conducted by scientists from Rosatom, the Russian Quantum Center and leading engineering and technical universities.

In general, the project is an important element of Rosatom's efforts to form a personnel reserve for the Russian quantum sphere. It is implemented in fulfillment of the tasks of the government roadmap "Quantum Computing," which Rosatom coordinates as a leader company.

Yulia Uzhakina, General Director of the ANO "Corporate Academy of Rosatom" pointed out that the educational program of Rosatom is designed to give schoolchildren guidelines for development in the direction of quantum technologies. According to her, for young talents, Rosatom is a visible embodiment of the possibilities of scientific and engineering thought, and just as the atomic project determined the development of our country in the 20th century, the quantum project will determine the future in the new century - the guys must believe that it is they who will bring these ambitious plans to life.

The Russian government and large Russian companies continue to expand the range of solutions for unlocking the potential of students and schoolchildren. Rosatom and its enterprises participate in the creation of basic departments in Russian universities, the implementation of scholarship support programs, large educational projects, the organization of practices and internships for students with their subsequent employment.
