2023: Use of S-Tag 3D Plus Radiometers

S-Tag 3D Plus radio tags of the Siltek Group of Companies are used as an element of the automated accounting system for the West Kazakhstan Service Company car repair depot. As of November 2023, about 5 thousand reusable labels with magnet fastening are involved in the turnover. Siltek announced this on November 28, 2023.

The company's repair site is located at the Akzhayyk station (g.) Atyrau and performs full-cycle repairs (planned and current) for all types of freight rolling stock, including universal wagons, tanks, platforms, etc. for railway enterprises states of the near abroad with a gauge of 1520 mm, mainly from and. Russia Kazakhstan

The objects of marking are wheelsets and large car casting - side frames and overspring beams. Installation of RFID-tags takes place at the moment of reception and dismantling of car units. Each part has a separate label that "lives" with the part while it is at the enterprise and will not go beyond it.

With the help of readers, information about the part is entered into the centralized depot database. The database also contains information on all production processes that are carried out during four main stages: acceptance, incoming control, repair, consumption. All intermediate stages are taken into account, including warehouse accounting and inventory, as well as data of production personnel involved in operations.

The project started in November 2022 and as of November 2023, the company notes significant implementation results.

{{quote 'Earlier, after the operation, the employee went with paper and recorded information about the part, and then transferred it to a computer. Now, after the introduction of the Smart Depot system, it was possible to completely exclude this work, since the data are automatically supplied to the 1C system immediately after they are entered in the workshop through the data collection terminal, "said Vitaly Dergunov, director of digitalization of transport and industry processes at the West Kazakhstan Service Company. - According to our estimates, the savings are 2 man-hours per day for each employee. In addition, the number of errors was minimized, the quality of work with parts was improved, access to information on parts was accelerated. }}

The greatest effect was noted within the framework of accounting and control processes, inventory. The speed has noticeably increased using RFID reader search - you can scan and find the label (and part) on the territory of the enterprise by the signal of the label within a radius of up to 10 meters.

The S-Tag 3D Plus case is made of shock-resistant, chemical-resistant material; in bright, in this case yellow, so that employees can easily notice its presence and location at the site. The case has indelible laser marking - the DataMatrix code, which makes it possible to work with the tag not only with an RFID device, but also with ordinary scanning systems.

{{quote 'The S-Tag 3D Plus label is based on the classic S-Tag 3D series with a three-dimensional antenna for working both on metal parts and surrounded by metal parts, which make up the cars, - said Maxim Selivanov, head of the Center for Identification Systems of the Siltek Group of Companies. - Mounting on powerful neodymium magnets allows you to instantly place the radio tag on the object and remove it just as quickly after performing technological operations. The mark is so strong that it remains in place even during turning operations with wheelsets. }}

In such conditions, the S-Tag 3D Plus is used in series and tested at several enterprises of a similar specialization; proved to be worthy during the repair of wagon assemblies.
