The head of the Executive Committee of Kazan Rustem Gafarov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of PJSC Tattelecom, General Director of OJSC Svyazinvestneftekhim Valery Sorokin and General Director of OJSC Network Company Ilshat Fardiev also took part in the ceremony dedicated to the start of the construction of the data center.
A data center with an area of 3 thousand square meters. m will be erected on Nikolai Ershov Street in Kazan. They will be designed for 400 telecommunication racks. According to the general director of Tattelecom Airat Nurutdinov, a transformer substation with a total capacity of 1.8 MW with a reserve of up to 3.6 MW will be built for the facility.
For comparison: the [residential] quarter of Azino-1 consumes 2 times less. It is such capacities that are required today for deep calculations, - said the head of Tattelecom. |
It is also planned to build an administrative office center for 200 jobs and implement a scientific and educational cluster on the basis of a computing center with the support of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan. The facilities will be built in two queues, work will be completed in 2026.
At the end of November 2023, Nurutdinov, speaking about the importance of this project, noted a twofold increase in traffic from the company in 4 years, which, according to him, naturally requires a solution to the issue of data protection and processing.
It is noted that the computing center will solve the problems of processing, analyzing critical data of IT systems of both the company itself and other enterprises and ensuring their protection from unauthorized access. The data center will also make it possible to form a base for training students and scientists in the field of computational sciences and data analysis, Tattelecom noted[1]
