The school will help create a training system for the engineering elite, which will develop pharmaceuticals for cancer patients and develop nuclear medicine. This is important for early detection of cancer, timely treatment and reduction of mortality. Congratulations to the team of our pivotal university. The regional government accompanied the project at all stages of development, we will provide the school with all the necessary support in the future, - said the governor of the Ulyanovsk region Alexei Russkikh.

UlSU will receive federal support in the amount of 120 million rubles to create a school, as well as funds from industrial partners - an additional 110 million rubles will be allocated by Pharmat and TestGen. The Ulyanovsk region was among the 20 winning regions of the federal competition "Advanced Engineering Schools." This is a federal project that was created on the basis of one of 42 strategic initiatives for socio-economic development. As a result of competitive selection in 2022, 30 universities from 15 regions became the winners of the project. In the second wave of selection in 2023, their number will increase to 50, including 8 regions where they will be created for the first time.

Two specialized universities, Bashkir State Medical University and Russian Biotechnology University, also applied for participation in the government project for the development of advanced engineering schools in 2024. They requested grants for their projects in the total amount of more than 1.6 billion rubles.[1]
