LUXdash

The navigation software of Shturman will be integrated into the hardware-software LUXdash platform (is reported in November, 2010) developed and used by Luxoft for projects with the automobile companies from Europe and the USA, the platform will be applied in equipment of cars of the largest world brands.

Navigation function will be implemented based on the software of Shturman with cartographic base from Navteq company, the leading world supplier of digital cartographic information. The LUXdash platform is applied during creation of multifunction "head devices" of the car, the computerized meter panels (Virtual Instruments Cluster), the systems of multimedia to passengers of back seats (Rear Seats Entertainment) and Aftermarket PND integrated by an abbreviation of IVI (in-vehicle infotainment).

The version of a software platform of LUXdash based on Angstrom Linux/MeeGo executed according to the current recommendations of alliance GENIVI and equipped with a navigation subsystem of Shturman with cards of NAVTEQ was presented at the Telematics Munich 2010 exhibition (Munich, Germany, on November 10 - 11, 2010), the largest European industrial action in the field of automobile telematics.

SHTURMANN 1.1 with function of autoupdating on GPRS and the opportunities expanded with LBS/LBA

In the new version of the navigation software of SHTURMANN 1.1 the possibility of autoupdating of the program for GPRS is implemented. This function will allow owners of SHTURMANN navigators to receive the current version of the navigation client without connection of the navigator to the computer. *

"Most of owners of navigators meet difficulties with updating navigation programs as usual and, as a result, the number of the downloaded updates is rather not high. However, at modern dynamics of development of navigation two identical navigators purchased with a difference in 2-3 months can significantly differ in respect of navigation functions and cards – we constantly work on improvements. Now the only action which the user needs to make, it to accept updating. The navigator independently checks existence of the new version on the server and suggests to make updating of the program if it is necessary. At the same time we still save means of the user as the cartography will not be updated through GPRS. For automatic update of the card (more than 1 Gbyte) we develop a convenient installer which checks and makes installation of the newest card at connection of the navigator to USB to PC port. It is very important since navigation of SHTURMANN updates the card free of charge within two years", - the CEO of Content Master company Puchkov Vladimir commented.

In a new software version of SHTURMANN LBS/LBA of an opportunity were expanded, a part of points of interest (POI) got logos of the companies which will be visible at object search in base and on the card. According to developers, it is simpler to perceive the branded POI, it is much more convenient to users to be guided among well familiar logos of producers of goods and services. In upgraded version of the program some object groups had dynamic information, now users can learn operating time, news and relevant goods prices and services, for example on fuel from a number of gas stations.

Function of autoscaling in the mode of the movement became one more innovation, now the card automatically changes scale depending on motion speed and necessary maneuvers. Also the Show on the Map function was added, it is possible just to look at the point now found through address search on the card, without laying to it a route. With the advent of the new version navigation of SHTURMANN became quicker, time of cold start was reduced, determination of coordinates happens quicker.

In the updated program of navigation SHTURMANN 1.1 the possibility of input of coordinates of points in several popular formats, the choice of a male or female voice of hints, a demo mode for demonstration of a program runtime appeared, the possibility of the choice of a color mode of the card, time synchronization on GPRS, and upon termination of a route the program will suggest the driver to go back or to lay a new route.

SHTURMANN 1.3.6

Version 1.3.6 includes improvement of functionality and new navigation charts from Navteq of the version Q3'2012 with significantly expanded covering and updating of the road graph.

The new version of navigation contains Russia maps (more than 600 cities and localities), Ukraine (more than 20 cities and localities) and Finland (a 100% detailed covering). Cartographic base Q3'2012 covers more than 2,300,000 km of the Russian and more than 470,000 km of the Ukrainian roads.

Updating expands address bases. Now search in the addresses became possible even in small towns and many villages. Besides, in a line of address search also the area and the region of location of an object is specified now. It helps to avoid confusion by search in localities with identical names that in Russia not a rarity.

The updated POIs base contains new categories of useful road objects – traffic lights, free public toilets, places for country rest and the vacation spot on the route, etc. Besides, information on the available points, for example, hypermarkets, border check-points, sights and many other is detailed. Separately It should be noted that in POIs base of navigation Shturmann – more than 19,000 gas stations (including gas) from which more than 5000 provide information on fuel cost.

Besides in the updated navigation errors of the previous version are corrected and the general stability of a program runtime is increased.
