2023: Introduction of an automated mining and transport management system

ALROSA has completed a large-scale implementation of an automated mining and transport management system at the Mirninsky-Nyurbinsky GOK in Yakutia. The solution, built on the basis of ACS GTC "Quarry" from the Russian developer of industrial software for the mining industry - VIST (part of the GC "Digital"), has led to an increase in the efficiency of heavy trucks by 16% due to more efficient management of transport flows and minimizing downtime. Alrosa announced this on December 18, 2023.

The Quarry system automatically collects information about the operation of the mining and transport complex and gives an objective picture of the current state of the production and cargo transportation process. The dispatcher can track the movement of both all equipment and individual units on - monitor computer in real time and for arbitrary previous periods. It also displays the current operation status of the equipment, the facts of deviation of its work from the plan and route, a decrease in speed. Monitoring and analysis of the functioning of the mining transport fleet allows to increase the level of discipline of mining operators and the coefficient of use of vehicles. Personnel motivation is also based on data obtained from the dispatching system.

In total, 57 pieces of equipment are connected to the Quarry system, including dump trucks, loaders, bulldozers. On-board information screens have been implemented for operators of mining transport, on which they can see the number of flights, the type of raw materials transported and other information.

The main goal of this digitalization project is to increase the efficiency of equipment at the Mirna-Nyurba GOK. Thanks to the dispatching system, we made all processes transparent and opened up new opportunities for analyzing our own activities. Firstly, this has simplified the work of our dispatchers - now they can more quickly respond to technical malfunctions and any other deviations from the normal operation of the mining and transport complex. Secondly, management has received advanced digital tools to identify bottlenecks in production and track a whole set of critical performance indicators. This is necessary for making management decisions to increase the productivity of the mining transport complex and the efficiency of work in general, "said Stanislav Gushchin, head of the ALROSA production process dispatching center.

We see that mining enterprises see digitalization as a necessary step to strengthen the strategic sustainability of production. It is especially valuable that the scale when choosing products for digital initiatives of mining companies is increasingly inclined towards domestic solutions.
