2023: Arrest in blogger attack case

At the end of December 2023, the Basmanny District Court of Moscow arrested for two months the general director of Serkons (specializing in issuing certificates and conducting examinations in the field of fire and industrial safety) Andrei Grigoriev in the case of an attack on bloggers. He is accused under articles on hooliganism and obstruction of the legitimate professional activities of journalists.

According to Kommersant, in March 2019, the Rospriavy film crew, led by the editor-in-chief of the publication, Jan Katelevsky, and blogger Alexander Dorogov, visited the Serkons office. They claimed that they defended the interests of an illegally dismissed employee. Grigoriev considered that it was illegal to enter the office and used tear gas.

According to the publication, the head of the company, to whom the gas got into the eyes, practically did not participate in the collision, not even falling into the field of view of surveillance cameras, the recordings of which became one of the evidence of the accusation.

It is noted that Katelevsky and Dorogov were under investigation in 2023. They were sentenced to 9.5 and 10.5 years in prison, respectively, in the case of extortion from a policeman for not publishing compromising evidence. According to the policeman, the journalists began to secretly film his work at the posts and forced them to pay 1.3 million rubles for not publishing incriminating materials on the Internet.

Two of Grigoriev's accomplices were convicted earlier, two more fled to Ukraine. Grigoriev himself does not admit his guilt, according to the publication of the publication.

Andrei Grigoriev's lawyer Rustam Gabdullin asked the court, given the unproven nature of the alleged act, or completely reject the investigation's petition, or limit himself to house arrest against the head of Serkons, but he was taken into custody until February 26, 2024.^[1]
