2015: Automation of production accounting with TALARIX MES software product

A software complex based on the TALARIX MES industry solution has been put into commercial operation at MPK Kuban LLC.

Enterprise capacity:

  • 8,400 tons of meat processing per year,
  • The capacity of the combined slaughter line is 27 tons of meat per bone in an 8-hour shift (500 heads of pigs or 120 heads of cattle).
  • Refrigeration capacity - 75 tons in chilled form, in frozen form - 250 tons,
  • Cutting and packaging - 12.5 tons.

The implementation project was divided into 5 stages and covered the most sensitive areas of production: the slaughter shop; semi-carcass refrigerator; cutting shop; vacuum packing shop; Finished goods warehouse (semi-finished products shipping area).

A total of 55 workstations (AWS) were automated at 15 control points (PCs).

As a result of the implementation of TALARIX MES, the enterprise has received an effective system with the following functionality and advantages:

  • All activities in areas automated during the implementation project are recorded in the system.
  • The transparency of accounting at automated production sites has been increased, all semi-carcasses and by-products from slaughter are marked, a batch of raw materials and a production date are traced.
  • During the project, organizational processes were rebuilt. The added point of total weighing when applied to slaughter made it possible to identify and manage losses on pre-slaughter maintenance, as well as to analyze the calibration of animals coming from farms.
  • In the refrigerator, the movement of semi-carcasses at each movement began to be accompanied by a mandatory piece-by-piece weighing, which made it possible to achieve an increase in the quality of loss control at the Refrigerator site, both extinguished, and in the whole batch, farm, etc.
  • As a result of the implementation project, a mechanism for accurately calculating natural losses, both actual and regulatory, was implemented.
  • The company was able to receive operational balances in warehouses, while unlike many Western MES systems, residues can be obtained not only at "now," but also at any time in the past.
  • It was possible to carry out an operational inventory of the Refrigerator by scanning and weighing raw materials in the warehouse.
  • Manual data entry at the Control Points is replaced with interactive, the number of manual information entry errors is reduced to a minimum.
  • The management of the enterprise has the opportunity to form expanded production reports based on the results of slaughter with a high degree of analytics.
  • During the implementation project, the quality characteristics of animals and meat raw materials were taken into account.
  • At the moment, the timing of operations is fully recorded in the system: the time of holding animals at the control room, the hourly rate of slaughter, the actual time for cooling the raw materials, the duration of the shipment process, etc.
  • During the implementation project, the principle of mesh warehouses was implemented, as well as placement in storage bins according to the placement strategies established in the system.
  • It is possible to ship meat to the bone through the MES system with traceability, control of compliance with the shipment schedule, control of underloads/overloads.
  • During the implementation project, AWS was implemented to select semi-finished products for shipment by scanning weight barcodes.
