2021
The Shlyakh system (translated from the Ukrainian Path) was created in 2021. With the help of this development, drivers of draft age have the right to cross the border if they transport humanitarian aid or medical supplies. The system was created to pass volunteers and drivers across the Ukrainian border in order to eliminate corruption when issuing permits to cross the border by men of draft age. Both personal data and licensed carriers are entered into it. The departure of men aged 18 to 60 from Ukraine for the period of martial law (introduced in February 2022) is prohibited.
