2024: Corruption charge

In September 2024, it became known that the former head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Valentin Reznichenko, accused of corruption, remained free on bail in the amount of 30 million hryvnias (about $726 thousand). This decision was made by the court, which determined the preventive measure in the form of bail. The ex-official was obliged not to leave the territory of the Dnipropetrovsk region, to hand over all foreign passports and wear an electronic bracelet.

According to TASS, Reznichenko is accused of organizing a large-scale corruption scheme related to the laundering of funds intended for road repairs. Damage to the state is estimated at almost $7.8 million. In addition, five more criminal cases have been instituted against the ex-head of the region. He is charged with embezzlement of 11.5 thousand laptops, misuse of cars received as humanitarian aid, as well as theft of a significant number of body armor and forced alienation of wheat from enterprises.

Reznichenko also appears in the case of entering data from 53 people into the IT system, "Shlyakh" which allows men of draft age to legally cross the border. Ukraine These individuals did not return to the country, which raised suspicions that their data was entered into the system for a monetary reward.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed Valentin Reznichenko from his post. A month earlier, employees of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine searched his office. Then the attention of the investigation was directed to road works worth 1.5 billion hryvnia (approximately $41 million), which were carried out by Stroyinvestengineering by order of the regional administration. According to Ukrainian media reports, Reznichenko's close friend was the owner of this company.[1]
