2024: UserGate Firewall Implementation F8000

The decision of the Russian developer of information security solutions UserGate ensured the safe operation of the network of state authorities and local governments of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The delivery of a comprehensive solution based on the next generation firewall (Next-Generation Firewall, NGFW) was implemented by the North Information Security Center. UserGate announced this on January 25, 2024.

The regional information and telecommunication network provides a single information and telecommunication space of state and local authorities in the territory of the Republic of Sakha. It allows you to increase the efficiency of their activities by using IT and communication systems, as well as organizing interdepartmental electronic interaction when providing state and municipal services to the population.

To provide the ability to securely connect information systems, networks and information storage facilities to it, you need a network solution that provides reliable protection against attacks and external threats, as well as the ability to safely access all government officials on the Internet.

Based on the results of comprehensive testing and a pilot project, it was decided to implement the UserGate F8000 firewall with the UserGate Log Analyzer event and incident analysis system designed for large corporate networks and data centers that provide high availability, redundancy, scalability and flexibility to integrate into the network infrastructure. UserGate F combines all the necessary security features with the capabilities necessary to operate the most stable service at the highest load. The solution installed at the border of the network provided its protection against attacks and intrusions, analysis and filtering of traffic by content, control of Internet applications, blocking dangerous scripts and applications, protection against viruses and spam, as well as other security functions.
