2024: Implementation of Delta BI

On January 25, 2024, Home Bank"" announced that it had switched to the import-independent BI-system. Delta BI""

As reported, Home Bank is one of the largest, banks Russia which as of January 2024 serves more than 36.5 million customers in 2000 cities. Since 2014, the Bank has been continuously developing its data processing and analysis infrastructure.

The culture of working with data at Home Bank has been developing for years. The company has developed a data architecture. It consists of a core in the form of a Data Warehouse and a set of different BI solutions. Initially, the company used, and Oracle BI when the need for self-service tools was ripe, products such as and appeared Tableau. Power BI Also, the so-called "sandboxes" were implemented in Data Warehouse, in which employees of business units can independently collect reports on flexible parameters. In fact, this is an ecosystem of data in which you can solve almost any problem in the field without analysts attracting. programmers

When foreign BI vendors left Russia in 2022, the bank faced the task of import substitution of the data landscape while maintaining the usual level of analytics. The company was looking for an importo-independent product that could solve it. At the same time, it was important for the bank that business users could work in the ecosystem as before, without involving the IT unit in solving everyday problems. The choice of Home Bank fell on the Delta BI system.

The presence of self-service tools was one of the key requirements for the product, along with support in Russia and the ability to deploy the solution on its own servers. Our company has more than 280 business users in the data ecosystem. We did not want to further load the IT unit with tasks related to dashboards and reporting. However, in the Russian market, real self-service is available from only a few BI suppliers. Delta BI was the most functional among such products and allowed us to maintain the usual level of analytics even after migration.

Delta BI is an augmented analytics solution designed for in-depth processing of large amounts of analytical information and the preparation of dynamic reports. The system allows you to consolidate data from disparate sources, create their models, configure ETL processes, and use dashboards for collaboration between employees. The platform is built on the principles of low code, so that all requests to Delta BI can be made in natural language, as well as using AI and machine learning technologies.

This makes business analytics available to users with any level of technical skills and helps them work with reporting. At the same time, the bank's IT team is constantly engaged in refinement, optimization and refactoring - and in general is improving the data landscape. As part of the transition to this system, developer representatives trained Home Bank users and transferred almost a hundred business analysts to updated functionality.

In addition, the bank has created a training course and a verification test, according to the results of which any employee of the company can access the system and use it to obtain the desired data slice. So, in addition to the tasks of regular analytics and reporting in dozens of business units, Delta BI, together with the data warehouse, is used at Home Bank as part of financial audits for large customers, for internal banking tenders, as well as for monitoring critical business indicators.

Banks and financial institutions in general are among the most demanding clients in terms of analytics. Key business processes depend on the quality of data processing. The use of Delta BI allows them to ensure the uninterrupted operation of the data infrastructure and maintain the level of data analysis even after switching to non-import-dependent software.
