Tekom introduced the SRT agent product update on February 5, 2024. This version of the application will allow you to receive a video stream over SDI in real time and convert it for transmission over long distances, including to several destination points.

The solution is a hardware and software package that consists of an SDI board and software - the SRT agent application. The SRT agent can work in the SDI infrastructure, and then convert streams to ensure further distribution of content. For example, when shooting at a remote TV studio, the video stream from the camera is received using an SRT agent with SDI support and converted for transmission to the TV channel. An SRT agent with SDI support will also help in a situation where shooting is carried out from several devices, and you need to accept and convert all SDI streams. Stream multicast replication allows content to be transferred to multiple destination points at once. Taking into account the power of the equipment used, the number of input channels for SDI flows can be increased by installing a board with a large number of inputs.

In this case, you do not need to buy additional decoders for conversion to SRT, UDP, HLS or RTMP. You can increase the number of channels that are encoded and broadcast using the SRT agent by updating the license.
