2025: RFRIT grant for the project - 897 million rubles
In June 2025, the demo day of the ITC "Railway Engineering" took place, on which issues of import substitution of foreign engineering software and the implementation of particularly significant projects for the digitalization and automation of railway engineering enterprises were discussed. One of the projects is being implemented by the Metrovagonmash plant (part of TMH JSC, the parent company of the Transmashholding engineering group).
We are talking about the introduction of the Russian system of predictive analytics and forecasting of equipment failures "Smart Diagnostics." For the implementation of this project, which received the status of particularly significant, the Russian Fund for the Development of Information Technologies (RFRIT) provided a grant in the amount of 897 million rubles.
The developer and copyright holder of the Smart Diagnostics solution is Ctrl2go.Solutions (Clover Group LLC). The platform is designed for remote monitoring, automatic diagnostics and predictive analysis of the technical condition of critical equipment. The system uses artificial intelligence tools, mathematical modeling methods, machine learning models, algorithms for clustering and analyzing big data.
The new Russian software is designed to help optimize the processes of technical and preventive maintenance to improve the reliability and uninterrupted operation of equipment. The system allows you to make management decisions based on objective information about the technical state of production assets, effectively use human resources and automate routine data processing operations. At the same time, transparency and objectivity of repair and quality control processes are ensured.
As Metrovagonmash notes, Smart Diagnostics in terms of functionality is an analogue of foreign solutions GE SmartSignal, Siemens Anomaly Monitor and Aveva Predictive Analytics. The domestic system will be used in the Transmashholding group of companies to assess the condition and increase the reliability of units and units of metro and locomotive cars produced and serviced, as well as for continuous improvement of their design.[1]
2024: The first stage of refinement and implementation of Smart Diagnostics software
On February 9, 2024, Metrovagonmash JSC, together with Ctrl2GO Solutions (Clover Group LLC), completed work on the first stage of the SmartDiagnostics software rework and implementation project. This was announced on February 16, 2024 by representatives of Ctrl2GO Solutions.
The project is being implemented at the expense of a grant from the Russian Fund for the Development of Information Technologies (RFRIT) and is recognized by the Government of the Russian Federation as particularly significant.
During the pre-design survey at the enterprise, more promising areas were identified for the implementation of a domestic solution in the field of predictive diagnostics. Based on the results of the operator's consideration of the grant, submitted proposals for changing the implementation object, an additional agreement was concluded between Metrovagonmash and RFRIT by the decision of the Presidium of the Government Commission on Digital Development, the use of information technologies to improve the quality of life and business conditions. Power, generating and auxiliary installations of rolling stock and metro cars have been identified as a new implementation object.
During the first stage, a pre-project survey of rolling stock service business processes for introducing predictive analytics tools, a partial survey of information systems used in rolling stock service processes, and technical information on nodes and units produced at Metrovagonmash and Transmashholding were collected to develop digital predictive analytics models.
Based on the results of the first stage of the project, revision was carried out and preliminary tests of the functionality of the SmartDiagnostics software were carried out, a library of digital model templates was formed for the types of equipment selected as pilot ones.
Ctrl2GO Solutions also noted the successful creation and validation of digital statistical models of equipment based on accumulated historical telemetry data.
The project works shall be performed in full scope and in accordance with the project schedule.
The financial support of the Russian Information Technology Development Fund makes a tangible contribution to the achievement of technological sovereignty not only of the production and products of Metrovagonmash and Transmashholding, but also other key enterprises of the Russian economy, since the units and units of rolling stock, such as electric motors, diesel plants, generators are used as part of various industrial equipment, including in the power, on equipment for mining, facilities for transportation and processing of oil and gas, as well as in power plants of cargo ships and tankers.
