2024: Testing of electronic waybill processing technology

The FESCO transport group (FESCO, Group) and Kaluga Astral JSC will organize intermodal transportation, during which they will test the technology for issuing electronic waybills, electronic waybills and electronic maritime bill of lading with the transfer of documents to the state information system of electronic transportation documents (GIS EPD).

The corresponding agreement was signed by Dmitry Surovets, Vice President for Information Technology at FESCO, and Stepan Terekhin, Director for Business Development of KALUGA ASTRAL JSC, in the presence of Dmitry Skachkov, Director of the Digital Transport and Logistics Association (ACTL), Polina Davydova, Director of the Digital Development Department of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation.

The Parties will process the technology during the intermodal transportation of FESCO, in which the Cargo will be delivered by road from a warehouse in Vladivostok to the Vladivostok Commercial Sea Port (part of FESCO) and further using the FESCO regular marine service to the port of Korsakov (Sakhalin).

The first dispatch with the execution of electronic documents and their transfer to GIS EPD is scheduled for the second-third quarter of 2024.

As one of the representatives of transport industries Russia , the FESCO Transport Group is extremely interested in the fact that a seamless environment for the design and implementation of intermodal transportation begins full-fledged work as early as possible. This is why FESCO pays great attention to digitalization business processes and works closely with the Ministry of Transport, Russia ACTL and other key market players for the development and early launch of GIS EPD, - said Dmitry Surovets.

We strive to be leaders in all processes related to electronic transportation documents. We highly appreciate the level of digitalization of the Fesco transport group and will try to help seamlessly integrate the processes of document exchange in electronic form. For us, this is a very responsible and interesting project, we understand its importance for the entire industry and do not doubt the successful implementation, - said Stepan Terekhin, Director for Business Development, Astral Group of Companies.

Both companies are members of our Association. Kaluga Astral is one of the major operators of GIS EPD, the FESCO transport group is an active member of the working group on the creation of the National Digital Transport and Logistics Platform, which owns a smart Far Eastern port that is most suitable for electronic document management due to its digitalization. I will not hide that the decision to cooperate and conduct a pilot project was made at the Association's site. Within the framework of the "pilot," the technological and organizational aspects of the transfer and execution of transportation documents during multimodal transportation will be worked out - this is an important step in the formation of the NCTPL. And, of course, we are waiting for FESCO as a full-fledged participant in the GIS EPD, when later in 2024 documents for water transport will become available for registration in the system in electronic form, - said Polina Davydova.
