The national planetary scanner ElarScan A2-400R has been delivered to Pskov State University to create electronic copies of valuable books from the funds of the institution's library. Elar announced this on April 3, 2024.
The library of Pskov State University has about 3300 rare publications that may be of interest to research scientists, "say specialists from the educational institution.
Among the rare publications are works devoted to the life and work of A.S. Pushkin, books on history, books of a physical and mathematical profile, psychological and pedagogical research, the late XIX - early XX centuries.
First of all, the ElarScan A2- 400R scanner will be used to digitize rare books. The planetary scanner will allow you to carefully and in high resolution scan different types of stitched and embroidered originals of the format to A2, using automatic adjustment for documents of different thickness and texture. The V-shaped cradle is adjustable to the desired format and degree of opening - 90, 120 or 180, allowing you to scan originals up to 15 cm thick and weighing up to 15 kg.
Also, students and teachers of the Institute of Industrial Technologies and Design are already turning to us to scan drawings and plans for their projects, - explained in Pskov State University. - There is an idea to use equipment to digitize the materials of the university museum. Plans for the near future include the creation of a Data Digitization Laboratory. |
