Pulkovo Airport and Reksoft have implemented a comprehensive solution for handling baggage from the register of Russian software

2024: Implementation of baggage handling system

The introduction of a comprehensive baggage handling system of domestic production is being completed at Pulkovo Airport. The project is being implemented jointly with the multidisciplinary technological group Reksoft, which announced this on April 4, 2024.

Implementation is carried out on the basis of the first software complex for baggage handling, included in the register of Russian software. The development and testing of the software complex was carried out with the participation of the Pulkovo IT team.

Pulkovo's baggage system allows you to handle luggage with high speed and accuracy: the throughput is 4,800 units of baggage per hour. At the same time, processing of one unit from the reception desk to loading on board takes 15 minutes.

The baggage handling software allows you to effectively control the transportation, sorting, inspection and equipment of baggage for flights. The complex includes equipment control systems and control panels. The complex allows you to track complete information about the condition of baggage at any stage, providing it also to all services and systems through integration modules.

The pride of the project is to ensure the implementation and testing of the system without stopping the operational activities of the airport. The joint team of Pulkovo and Reksoft worked, including at night, when the load is at minimum parameters. We did everything to ensure that passengers did not notice any inconvenience when introducing a Russian development, which is now in the register of Russian software as the first complex of this type, "said Andrei Verbnikov, head of the internal engineering systems operation service at Air Gate of the Northern Capital, Pulkovo Airport. - The introduction of the decision into the register of domestic software confirms its reliability and compliance with strict quality standards, which are a prerequisite for critical infrastructure facilities. This is one of the key parameters for Pulkovo Airport in the context of strengthening technological independence and a step towards increasing the level of domestic innovation in the aviation industry.

Also in the project, the development, testing and implementation of the domestic bus for the exchange of airport messages was carried out. With its help, the airport exchanges data on the luggage of each specific passenger with all airlines using the airport services.

Cooperation with Pulkovo on a real example showed that import substitution problems can and are solved without stopping current activities, and the customer's team of experts provides product development with experience and knowledge of the subject area.
