2024: Remote control of Android 5 and Android 6 devices

The company's developers PRO32 have expanded the capabilities of the PRO32 Connect remote device administration service, and now it can run on the now technical 5 operating systems Android and Android 6. A solution was found while working on a remote technical support client for a VTB cash desk product. The developer announced this on April 19, 2024.

VTB turned to us to solve the problem: after leaving the Russian market of a large German developer, they were left without the ability to remotely administer online cash registers on versions of the Android OS, which Google no longer supports. Another of our customers found himself in a similar situation, only the devices were different. As a result, we found a solution to how to provide remote control of Android 5 and Android 6 devices, and even those on which the products of our Western competitors do not work - that is, they jumped above their heads at the pilot level, "said Vladimir Abramov, owner of Connect at PRO32.

According to him, the solution is based on an API for developers, which allows you to control the device through a computer in tester mode by pressing a mouse.

We took this API, expanded it a little, turned it upside down the method that testers use for our purposes so that we can control a remote device through these methods. As a matter of fact, the addon (revision, addition) emulates the work of the tester, which performs the basic script of some functions, and allows settings to be made on a remote device, "Abramov explained.

He stressed that with the help of the add-on, it was possible to establish remote control of those devices that were not supported by foreign counterparts. In addition, this was done under the requirements of customers, which would be excluded when using foreign products.
