A mail system is implemented into Medi Rus companies

The Softline company completed an implementation project of the Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 mail server for Medi Rus company.

Prerequisites

Before implementation of Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 the company worked based on other mail server. According to Sergey Bulygin, the head of department of information technologies of Medi Rus company, the available mail server did not conform to requirements and requests of the company. In particular, the staff of the company noted the slow web interface, "hangup" of an e-mail client at initial synchronization of boxes and weak technical support from vendor. In spite of the fact that the mail server in general coped with the main objectives, the company management made the decision on migration.

Solution

When choosing Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 as the mail server, decisive was a fact that this solution completely compatibly with Outlook, besides, migration guaranteed decrease in load of corporate technical support, minimizing of failures of servers and client applications, acceleration of work of an e-mail client.

Result

Now the project is implemented. The solution was put into operation by the staff of Softline in five days after the beginning of works, in addition, within seven days testing of operability of a system was held.

Implementation of Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 allowed the staff of Medi Rus company to work with group data through Outlook, to get access to server resources under the WebDav and FTP protocols (it is implemented based on Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard Edition), etc.

Opinion

The manager of projects of Softline Andrey Merzlyakov noted: "Thanks to the new server the staff of the company got access to mail under the protocols SMTP, IMAP, MAPI, POP3, ActiveSync, RPC over HTTP as in the company, and from the outside. Moreover, now Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 services not only users of Medi Rus, but also performs functions of a mail hoster for some other the companies. We can regard this project as unambiguously successful".
