In April 2024, the Kalashnikov concern presented the Karakurt reconnaissance mini-drone. According to the developers, this unmanned aerial vehicle has high performance launch maneuverability in conditions of limited space from a compact transport and launch container.
According to the press service of Kalashnikov, Karakurt has the ability to conduct species aerial reconnaissance in real time. The concern said that the users who tested these drones noted their demanded tactical and technical characteristics. It is noted that UAVs are developed taking into account the priority directions for the development of the country's defense complex and are practical solutions for the mobility of various combat missions, including in the zone of the special military operation of the Russian Federation in Ukraine.
The detailed characteristics of Karakurt by April 24, 2024 were not disclosed. Military political scientist, associate professor of the Department of Political Analysis and Socio-Psychological Processes of the Plekhanov PRUE Alexander Perendzhiev, in a conversation with the publication NEWS.ru noted that the new mini-drone from the Kalashnikov concern will become the "eyes" of the Russian army.

According to him, such drones can be used at guard posts and observation posts. In addition, they are able to carry a small charge and undermine warehouses from the enemy.[1]
