2024: EdTech Q1 revenue growth for 64% year-on-year
Synergy's revenue in the EdTech segment increased by 64% in the first quarter of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023. Growth is almost three times higher than the market average (22%). The corporation announced this on April 26, 2024.
Synergy's revenue from online education and educational software in the first three months of the year reached 2.7 billion rubles.
We managed to achieve significant growth through the creation and implementation of an educational ecosystem. It includes all levels of education: preschool, school, vocational secondary, higher education. We also offer business programs, corporate training, additional vocational education. Thus, we can close the needs for teaching the whole family, taking into account the trend for continuing education throughout our lives, "said Vadim Lobov, President of Synergy Corporation. |
Due to the introduction of modern methods for managing the quality of educational services, the Corporation has formed a wide brand community. As of April 2024, Synergy trains about 210 thousand people in various programs. Of these, 85% are educated online, on the digital platforms Synergy HUB, Synergy LMS, Synergy CRM, Synergy Online, Synergy Webinar.
Synergy also sells its own IT products, offering them to third-party educational organizations and businesses, which provides additional revenue growth.
The largest share of our revenue from online services is still higher education (63%). We were the first to implement this difficult segment in the EdTech field. A stereotype has formed on the market that EdTech includes primarily online courses. But the key component of this concept is the development and use of educational technologies. Therefore, Smart Ranking has expanded the rating with players representing various technology products, including higher education programs. Obviously, the market participants are also companies developing educational technologies, including IT solutions, equipment, devices, methodologies. Of course, clarifying criteria and standardization of the EdTech market as a phenomenon are needed, "Vadim Lobov emphasized. |
As of April 2024, the share of the online sector in the general market of Russian education does not exceed 6%. But the rate of its increase over the past five to six years is 20-30% per year. The largest growth is shown by the segments of children's education and DPO.
According to various estimates, in the next five years, the EdTech market will grow annually by 30-50%. The burden on the segment will increase due to the natural increase in youth aged 15 to 24 years - up to 26% by 2030.

2023: Opening of the Technology Transfer Center
Synergy Corporation has opened a Technology Transfer Center in Russia. It will package new technological developments into commercial products and bring them to market, including for export. The university announced this on December 6, 2023.
Up to 20 projects are planned to be implemented in 2024.
Russia has a high scientific potential and a strong engineering school. In 2022 alone, about 27 thousand applications for patents were submitted, most of them came from universities. But domestic universities often do not know how to turn developments into a commercial product and bring them to the market. This is exactly what the Center will do, "said Vadim Lobov, President of the Synergy Corporation. |
A single platform will unite manufacturers of new technologies (scientific laboratories, leading Russian universities, startup studios) and customers (industrial enterprises). At the request of companies state corporations , the Center will select the necessary technological solutions and help introduce them into production. For new developments that are in the early stages, the organization will conduct research and design work, and then transform them into a business product.
In parallel, the Center will study R&D in Russia and put into mass production the most promising developments. Monitoring will cover 317 universities, 20 research institutes, 12 world-class scientific and educational centers and other organizations.
Synergy Corporation's Technology Transfer Center features cross-industry specialization. Unlike the common model, in which universities and scientific institutes are engaged in developments in a specific area, the work of the Center includes a number of key areas. These include biotechnology, medicine, food, environmental, advanced production, agricultural technologies, as well as renewable power and IT technologies in the field of artificial intelligence and information security.
New technologies in these areas will be sought by the technical rockers of the Center. Specialists will monitor developments in regional universities and scientific institutes, assess the degree of their readiness and applicability at the request of the customer. Then they will form a package of proposals for bringing technology to market and serial commercialization, as well as accompany the introduction of research results into production.
To prepare such narrow-profile specialists in 2024, a network master's degree in technology and science-intensive entrepreneurship will be opened on the basis of the Center. Practitioners of the Technology Transfer Center will teach students to evaluate the advantages of technological projects and bring them to the commercial market.
The main goal of the Technology Transfer Center will be to achieve technological sovereignty. countries Against the background of sanctions, the issue import substitution and the creation of their own technologies became critical for. of the Russian economy We will systematically solve this problem: to replace foreign solutions the Russian with analogues, as well as the supply of domestic products with high added value for export, - said Vadim Lobov. |
According to him, another vector of the Center's work is aimed at transferring foreign technologies and adapting them to the needs of Russian companies. This can be both the import of ready-made solutions and the purchase of developments within the framework of a patent abroad.
Work with foreign organizations can be developed on the basis of our representative offices in different countries, in particular at the Synergy University campus in Dubai. We will cooperate with foreign companies, engineering centers, scientific laboratories, - explained Vadim Lobov. |
