2024: Preparing for Consumer Notebook Sales

At the end of April 2024, it became known about the entry of the Russian company Rikor electronics into the consumer laptop market. A new brand is being created for this project, sales are planned on marketplaces and in chain stores.

A source in one of the electronics companies told Vedomosti that Ricore will sell consumer laptops. The "Rikor electronics" itself confirmed the plans to the publication and said the following: "Yes, we are working on a line of laptops for retail."

Vice President for Commerce "Rikor electronics" Sergey Kupriyanov, in a conversation with the newspaper, clarified that the start of sales of portable computers for consumers is scheduled for the end of 2024.

According to the interlocutor of the publication, "Ricore" divided the conveyor and made a separate line for its devices. The contract production was separated into a separate organizational structure so that they did not intersect, the informant explained, noting that large volumes of products should not be expected.

By the end of April 2024, Ricore produces laptops, tablets, monitors and other electronics for corporate customers under the Rikor brand. The company's products are included in the register of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Production facilities are located in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

To enter the consumer segment, several million dollars are needed, said a representative of the IT holding Fplus. Although Rikor electronics already have its own production line, so investments may not be so high, objected Oleg Epishin, sales director of Inferit. According to him, Ricore may release laptops that will not be very different from commercial ones. For example, instead of a matte screen, make glossy, change colors, remove corporate options like Kensington lock, Epishin explains.[1]
