At the end of 2025, trade between Russia and Kazakhstan amounted to $27.37 billion. For comparison, a year earlier this figure reached $28.13 billion. Thus, a fall of 2.7% was recorded. In 2025, Kazakhstan imported goods from Russia worth about $19.23 billion, which is 3.5% more than a year earlier, when the figure exceeded $18.58 billion. At the same time, exports to the Russian Federation decreased in monetary terms by 14.8% - from $9.55 billion to $8.14 billion. An important component of Russian-Kazakh cooperation is industrial cooperation within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
In general, the foreign trade turnover of Kazakhstan with all countries in 2025 amounted to approximately $143.89 billion, which is 1.3% more compared to 2024, when the figure was at the level of $142 billion. The growth was due to imports, the volume of which increased by 7.4% on an annualized basis, amounting to $64.85 billion. Export revenues decreased by 3.2% to $79.04 billion.
Kazakhstan's exports to the EAEU countries in 2025 amounted to $10.12 billion, a decrease of 8.3% on an annualized basis. At the same time, imports increased by 4.4% - to $20.77 billion. It is noted that among the EAEU states, significant dynamics at the end of 2025 was recorded in trade relations between Kazakhstan and Belarus: exports grew by 58.3%, to $271.2 million, and imports increased by 23.7%, amounting to $937.4 million. The export of Kazakhstani goods to Kyrgyzstan increased by 29.3% - to $1.66 billion, to Armenia - by 35.3%, to $49 million. Imports of goods from Kyrgyzstan to Kazakhstan rose by 17.1% to $580.3 million, while from Armenia they decreased by 56.6%, reaching $20.2 million.[1]
Russia doubled car exports to Kazakhstan by the end of the year - up to $62.8 million

According to RIA Novosti, despite significant growth, the export of vehicles from the Russian Federation to Kazakhstan turned out to be far from records. For comparison, in 2022, shipments in money reached $129.2 million. This period was characterized by active deliveries against the background of significant changes in automotive logistics.
It is noted that Russia in 2025 accounted for only 2% of the total supply of passenger cars to Kazakhstan. China is the leader in this indicator with a share of about 50%, and Japan is in second place with 28%.
According to the Automobile Union of Kazakhstan, 234,852 vehicles were sold in the country in 2025, which is 14.4% more than the previous year. Thus, for two years in a row, the market for new cars in the republic exceeds the mark of 200 thousand units sold.
At the end of 2025, Hyundai is in the lead in the ranking of the most popular automotive brands in Kazakhstan with 50,868 cars sold (plus 15.4% compared to the results of the previous year). The second line is occupied by Chevrolet - 38,880 units (plus 25.7%), and Kia closes the top three with a result of 23,402 pieces (plus 1.5%). Next come Chery (14,570 units; minus 2.1%), Jetour (14,507 units; plus 52.6%), Haval (11,688 units; plus 6.4%), Toyota (11,338 cars; plus 2.7%), Changan (11,260 units; plus 32.3%), Jac (10,330 pieces; minus 12.2%) and Geely (9621 cars; plus 16.6%). Thus, more than 80% of all sales are concentrated in the top ten largest players. The peak of sales in 2025 was recorded traditionally in the second and fourth quarters.[2]
Russia and Kazakhstan increased annual trade turnover of agro-industrial complex products by 15.5% to $3.95 billion
The total trade turnover of agricultural products between Russia and Kazakhstan increased by 15.5% in 2025 and reached $3.95 billion. Russian exports to Kazakhstan amounted to $3.34 billion, imports - $0.61 billion. Deliveries of agricultural goods from Kazakhstan to Russia increased by 30.4% compared to 2024. The export of domestic agricultural products to the neighboring republic over the year increased by 13.1%. Olga Abramova pointed out that ice cream, margarine and rape became drivers of the growth of supplies from Kazakhstan. Ice cream is in the top 5 imported categories. Kazakh producers have increased production capacity for the production of dairy products. Margarine is used in the food industry for confectionery and bakery products.
Rapeseed is used for the production of vegetable oil and animal feed. Kazakhstan is developing the oil sector, increasing the sown area under technical crops. The climatic conditions of the northern regions of the republic are favorable for rapeseed.
Sugar, wheat, flour and chocolate confectionery prevailed in the structure of supplies from Russia. Russia traditionally acts as a supplier of grain for Kazakhstan. The sugar industry of the Russian Federation provides significant volumes of exports to neighboring countries.[3]

Increase in the purchase of spices by Russia from Kazakhstan by 10 times to 7.3 thousand tons
At the end of 2024, Russia bought 7.3 thousand tons of spices and spices from Kazakhstan, which is 10 times more than in 2023.
