Ozon has developed its own tool for generating and editing the background in the image of goods, which works using algorithmic machine learning. This will allow sellers to improve the visual presentation of their cards, reduce the cost of content preparation and speed up this process. The company announced this on September 25, 2024.

The AI editor will allow sellers to edit the image of the product: generate a suitable background in a few minutes, delete an unsuccessful background, and also improve the quality of the photo if it is loaded in low resolution. Editing tools are launched in test mode and work for free - as of September 2024, new features are available to parts of sellers: sellers of all categories will be able to improve the image quality or remove the background. AI background generation will be available in some product categories (e.g. house and garden, shoes, furniture, household chemicals, beauty and hygiene).

The tool with artificial intelligence is available in your personal account - the seller needs to enter the AI generator, select or upload a new photo of the product to the platform. Then it remains to apply the effect and wait for the result. The seller can upload the resulting image to the item card.

While the tool works for free in test mode and so far is available only for a part of sellers in some subcategories of women's clothing (for example, blouse, top, longsleeve, turtleneck, etc.). Soon it will be able to use all sellers of women's clothing available subcategories, and the functionality of the AI generator will expand.

The tool with artificial intelligence is available in your personal account - the seller needs to enter the AI generator, upload a photo of the item of clothing against a homogeneous background to the platform and wait for the result. If ready, the resulting image with clothes on the model, the seller can upload to the product card.

Ozon is constantly improving technology for sellers that allows them to find new buyers, increase their sales, and make it easier to create and work with content. In the fall of 2023, Ozon launched a video autogeneration service using machine learning algorithms that sellers use to promote goods on the site.
