Two data processing centers for storage of freeware programs are under construction the Sirius concern which is a part of Russian Technologies. Based on this project next year it is going to develop and place constantly updated Russian OS. The statement for creation of a repository of the state value for the programs which are in free access was made by the CEO of concern Leonid Ukhlinov.[1]
Construction of one of data centers located in Solnechnogorsk is already begun. The second center will be located in Novosibirsk. Access to these data processing centers will be open for all developers.
Direct participants of the program are the Novosibirsk Institute of Program Systems and the St. Petersburg Institute of software tools. One of tasks of these institutes is testings of a repository. Testing of DBMS, Internet-applications, operating systems and systems of the organization and data storage is already now conducted.
Loading the centers of programs placed in these data will be conducted with the website download.gov.ru. All placed software will undergo testing and certification. At present development of rules for the software and services and also programs of certification is conducted. Also rules of implementation and support of programs by developer companies are developed.
Russian Technologies are also going to develop a packet of freely distributed software for use in defense industry complex and to construct the separate data processing center (DPC) for storage of these programs.
