At the end of May 2024, the Russian telecommunications company VimpelCom, operating under the Beeline brand, launched the Tesla initiative to provide free protection against DDoS attacks for socially significant resources in the field of culture, art, charity and media (media).

According to the press service of VimpelCom, DDoS attacks pose a serious cyber threat, which consists in creating a stream of artificial traffic that overloads websites and makes them inaccessible to users. Such attacks can lead to significant financial losses, damage to reputation and loss of audience confidence.

He added that the DDoS protection system offered by VimpelCom includes round-the-clock traffic monitoring to quickly detect suspicious activity, multi-level filters to effectively screen out malicious traffic, and automatic scaling to ensure uninterrupted resource operation even when trying to massively overload.

The company emphasized that art, culture and charity are an integral part of Russian society, and it is extremely important to maintain the stable functioning of the relevant digital platforms.

According to Motovilov, institutions and organizations wishing to use free protection against DDoS within the framework of the Tesla project can apply on the official website of the initiative (link). VimpelCom provides communications services, IT products and solutions for corporate clients, including converged technologies, digital services and system integration. Ensuring cyber protection of socially significant resources is one of the priority areas in the implementation of the company's social responsibility principles.[1]
