The Orsk Museum of Local Lore has a domestic planetary scanner ElarScan A2-400 for digitizing stock documents and the most valuable exhibits. Elar announced this on June 20, 2024.

The main areas of work of the Orsk Museum of Local Lore are the preservation of cultural values, scientific and educational activities and patriotic education. At ElarSkan, the museum plans to digitize stock documents: volumes of a book of admission, books of various museum records. Also planned for the scan are cultural assets in storage in the museum, namely: photographs, documents, books, albums, posters, leaflets, paintings and graphics.

Valuable items include five metric books from 1912-1915, as well as alphabetical journals for them, "said Alexander Alexandrovich Favarisov, chief curator of the Orsk Museum of Local Lore. - These books contain information about those who were born, died and registered marriage in the city of Orsk during these years. A unique book that we plan to scan on new equipment is also a handwritten collection of church texts in the Old Slavonic language of the XIX century.

Electronic copies of stock documents will be used in the work of the museum, so employees of the institution will be able to turn to the originals less often, which will ensure their safety. Digital images of museum items will be presented in the electronic database - "State Catalog." This database is public, which allows any citizen to see the necessary items, get information about them, and thus study history.

The museum notes that one of the advantages of the domestic ElarSkan scanner is careful contactless scanning of documents in two modes - flat and V-shaped, as well as convenience, compactness, installation assistance and operation training.
