System Integrator X-Com a member of the Group of Companies of the same name, completed the network infrastructure development project. St. Petersburg State University of Telecommunications. Prof. M.A. Bonch-Bruevich (SPbGUT) X-Com announced this on June 21, 2024.

The project required the preparation of infrastructure for integration into the information system of the institution of new terminal equipment. The contractor was determined on the basis of an open tender, the participants of which were leading Russian system integrators and design and service companies. When considering competitive applications, along with the price component, the experience of candidates in the implementation of projects similar in volume and complexity for higher educational institutions was assessed. X-Com presented a portfolio of projects with reviews from rectors of leading universities in the country and, offering the most qualification-based conditions for the implementation of the project, was recognized as the winner.

X-Com specialists conducted an audit of the customer's network infrastructure, analyzed its architecture, the composition of active and passive equipment and its main settings. Based on the obtained data, a project for scaling the institution's local network was developed, providing for the introduction of additional switches, the composition of the necessary equipment and its technical specifications were determined. It was decided to use unmanaged JUST JT-H1024WD PoE switches with 24 10/100 Mb/s Ethernet ports and two 10/100/1000 Mb/s Uplink ports. Devices support the Watchdog function: the system regularly checks the health of connected devices, and in the event of a failure, independently initiates their restart.

The switches are integrated into the customer's network infrastructure, commissioning, configuration and testing have been performed. The project has been completed in full compliance with the contractual conditions in terms of scope, terms and warranty obligations. The X-Com Service Division is ready to provide service and technical support for the created solution.
