Education

Alexey Mazalov graduated from the Aerospace Department of the Moscow State Technical University named after N.E. Bauman in 2013 and the Faculty of Economics of RosNEU in 2018. A year later, he entered the graduate school of Voronezh State Technical University at the Department of Rocket Engines.

Career

2013-2023

He worked in the military-industrial complex "NPO Mechanical Engineering," MKB "Compass," the concern "Constellation," Voronezhselmash. Since 2013, he headed and developed projects of the Voronezh Center for Additive Technologies. According to Rostec, Alexey Mazalov was able to bring the company to a level of stable positive dynamics, get the first net profit and form a team of professionals. The company has fulfilled several thousand high-tech science-intensive orders for large industrial enterprises, research institutes and SMEs, obtained an FSB license, introduced a quality management system according to international standards, and also created and developed a startup in the field of private cosmonautics.

2024: Appointment as CEO of CAT

In June 2024, it was announced the appointment of Alexei Mazalov became the new general director of the Center for Additive Technologies (CAT, part of Rostec). He replaced Vladislav Kochkurov, who went to work for the United Engine Corporation (UEC).

According to the press service of Rostec, the new leadership of the Center for Additive Technologies JSC plans to ensure the constant scientific and technological development of the CAT, create unified control methods, develop the direction of reverse engineering and work with the UEC in order to involve in additive production.

The state corporation added that under the control of Vladislav Kochkurov, the company began to carry out design and technological developments, manufacture experimental and serial products, carry out licensed educational activities and conduct research work on the basis of a certified laboratory.[1]
