2024: Product Announcement

Russia has developed a new compact radar station "Frost," capable of detecting ultra-small drones. This became known on June 24, 2024. This innovative system was created by specialists of the research and production enterprise "Radar mms."

General Director and General Designer of NPP "Radar Mms" Georgy Antsev spoke about the main capabilities of the new radar. The Frost is equipped with an active phased array antenna (AFAR), which allows it to effectively detect even small targets such as Mavik-type drones at a distance of up to 5 kilometers. Larger radar objects can be fixed at a significantly greater distance. The system is also equipped with a database that allows you to distinguish between drones of different types and birds, which minimizes the risk of false positives.

As Georgy Antsev noted, several Iney complexes can be installed at airfields and long critical infrastructure facilities, creating a continuous radar field around them. Due to its small dimensions, the station can be integrated into various weapons systems, turning it into an on-board radar. The ability to install on various objects makes Frost a universal solution for many security applications.

According to RIA Novosti, the Radar mms research and production enterprise is one of the leading Russian developers in the field of electronic systems. The company is engaged in the creation of radar complexes, robotics, unmanned aerial vehicles, meteorological and magnetometric systems, as well as high-speed vessels and sea-based complexes. Georgy Antsev noted that "Frost" is only one of the examples of innovations developed by the enterprise to ensure the safety and increase the technological independence of Russia.[1]
