At the end of June 2024, the Leningrad Shipyard Pell"" presented a high-speed boat called the Katran Hunter, which is also designed to combat surface drones. The task of the vessel is to protect the near sea zone.

The Katran Hunter is designed on the basis of the body of the Raptor armored boat. The latter has a length of 16.9 m and a width of 4.1 m, and the maximum draft is about 1 m. The room of the special personnel and the wheelhouse are equipped with armor protection corresponding to classes "5" and "5A" in bullet resistance. The portholes are made of bulletproof glass with a thickness of 39 mm.

According to the Izvestia newspaper, Katran the Hunter has received a completely new internal layout compared to Raptor. The boat has a wheelhouse for 10 people, a cabin for resting the crew, a galley and a place for eating. In general, the convenience of the crew on board has been increased.

The Katran Hunter carries a 30-mm artillery mount AK-306 and a strike UAV complex. Water jet propulsors and sediment of one meter allow the vessel to operate not only in the open sea, but also in river waters. "Katran-hunter" will be able to support the landing of personnel from the landing "Raptors." In addition, the new vessel will have to counteract the unsecured enemy boats.

In the basic version, the Katran Hunter is equipped with the Octopus passive jamming complex and a new electronic warfare complex, the characteristics of which are not disclosed in the interests of the military. These systems will allow the boat to withstand fire damage from enemy air drones. According to military expert Dmitry Boltenkov, the ship can be used, in particular, to cross the Dnieper and actions in the northwestern part of the Black Sea.^[1]
