2024: Router Testing N3Com

The N3Com equipment passed the quality check of phase synchronization of the signal for base stations using the IEEE 1588v2 protocol on the broadband access network section of Russian Railways. This was announced by N3Com on July 3, 2024.

Testing was carried out as part of the selection of a supplier of equipment for building backbone networks communications BROADBAND ACCESS along the railways in the 1800 MHz band (TDD LTE standard). The tests took place at the Bekasovo Sortirovochny station Moscow Railway of Russian Railways. The purpose of the test was to check the quality of transmission and retention of the phase synchronization signal using the 1588v2 G.8275.1 PTP protocol to provide communication with LTE base stations. Modular routers accesses and aggregations were used in testing. N3COM IP/MPLS N3-8800

The tests were carried out by a working group consisting of specialists of Russian Railways (Central Communications Station, Moscow Communications Directorate, NIIAS JSC), as well as experts - representatives of manufacturers of domestic telecommunications data transmission equipment and base stations.

Based on the results of the tests, it was determined that the N3COM equipment can be used to organize a broadband access network for a mobile backhole: N3COM solutions provide seamless switching of subscribers located in the coverage area of several base stations. The N3-8800 can also be used to build LTE/TDD mobile aggregation networks with the ability to transmit a clock signal for base stations using the IEEE 1588v2 protocol G.8275.1 in conditions with poor signal availability GPS/.GLONASS

Rail transport requires state-of-the-art technology and IT infrastructure that must be constantly updated and maintained. Today, under conditions of sanctions restrictions, withdrawal from the Russian market of most foreign vendors, we are looking for new alternative solutions for our communication networks. Among the proposals under consideration, we can single out the company N3COM, which provided its equipment for building mobile backhole data networks for testing. The decision showed itself to be as close as possible to the technical requirements of Russian Railways for the quality and reliability of transmitting phase synchronization signals in accordance with the declared class B, "said Denis Azernikov, First Deputy Head of the Central Communications Station, a branch of Russian Railways.
