2024: Product Announcement

Russia has developed and successfully tested an innovative air defense (air defense) system that uses FPV drones instead of traditional shells. This became known on July 6, 2024.

According to Dmitry Kuzyakin, General Director of the Center for Integrated Unmanned Solutions (CCBR), the new system for protecting infrastructure facilities using FPV drones was tested at one of the operating Russian civil airfields, without disrupting its daily work. During the tests, the radio technical compatibility of the FPV system with the airfield systems was confirmed, and the ability of FPV pilots to operate under the control of airfield controllers was also demonstrated.

The air defense system developed by the CCBR includes not only drones equipped with "guns," but also the necessary ground equipment and special training of pilots. The FPV drones of the Joker-10 model were adapted for air defense and security missions. They can control the perimeter of an object and hit enemy vehicles with explosives, firing striking elements from special pipes or ram them.

During the tests, the CCBR specialists trained the airfield staff to control the FPV system. FPV drone pilots, while at a special deployment point, carried out operational monitoring of the facility and the physical destruction of violators both on the ground and in the air. Tests confirmed that FPV security and air defense can effectively interact with airfield controllers without interfering with the operation of the air harbor.

According to Dmitry Kuzyakin, the FPV-air defense system allows you to very quickly respond to threats and monitor the territory. FPV drone pilots can quickly perform protective and routine functions, which makes the system universal and effective. "FPV-protection and air defense is a new reality that should be implemented everywhere," Kuzyakin emphasized.[1]
