2024: Product Announcement

At St. Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation (GUAP), the development and introduction of an industrial robot designed to teach students has been completed. This became known on July 10, 2024.

As reported, TASS the new robot is a structure based on a hinged kinematic scheme consisting of five axes. This development was implemented within the framework of the program of the Ministry of Science and Higher formations Russia Priority-2030. A feature of this robot is its multifunctionality and the ability to change functions depending on the installed tool.

According to one of the developers of the project, a student of the Faculty of Secondary Professional and Higher Education of GUAP Daniil Frolikov, the created industrial robot is capable of performing a wide range of tasks. It can be used in the assembly of cars, manipulate blanks, carry small-sized products weighing up to 5 kg, and also form pallets.

An important aspect of development is the creation of a "digital shadow" program that allows you to move robot tools in real time. The author of this program was student Vitaly Poryvaev. The use of digital twin technology significantly reduces the time for training specialists and introducing the robot into production processes.

The introduction of this robot into the educational process will allow students to gain a wide range of skills in maintaining robotic equipment directly within the walls of the university. They will be able to master such professional competencies as the installation and switching of sensors of robotic systems, diagnostics, maintenance and elimination of minor malfunctions of external and internal systems.[1]
